The links below provide more information Asperger's Syndrome and Autism, important conditions affecting a large number of our population.

ASPERGER'S SYNDROME
For more information on Asperger’s Syndrome, please visit www.aspergers.com, or talk to one of us at our shows. Besides fabric, it’s our favorite topic!

KIDLAB @ GMU

KIDLAB is telling the story of the functional brain, what it looks like as it develops, creates, and solves problems, and what it looks like when you have autism or Asperger's syndrome. Our research nests in the community so we can teach children and families about neuroscience research and get them excited about participating! AsIfBags is a part of our community STORY program. We study talent and seek to show some of the good things about brains that have autism, Asperger's, and attention disorders. Check out the video documentary on our homepage!

GIVE AUTISM HOPE

Give Autism Hope is a not for profit organization invested in providing lifelong opportunities for children and their families with the disability of autism and related disorders.

The vision of Give Autism Hope is to open a school where education, treatment, therapeutic services, recreation, camps, support groups and community events will be an integral part of the school program.
The goal of our inclusive school (educating typically developing peers alongside peers with disabilities) is to create a village within a village enabling all children to live and work in the community in which they live.
Presently, Give Autism Hope is looking for corporate sponsors, individual donors and donated land. We are dedicated to this endeavor and invite others to join us in our fight to provide services and opportunities all children and their families deserve!

About us

Why AS IF? Aspergers Syndrome In the Family

AS IF works to increase awareness of Asperger's Syndrome and autism is general and to support charitable organizations focusing on autism. In addition to financial support, we provide website links, distribute flyers, donate purses for raffles and auctions, and even host home shows where a portion of sales is donated to charity. If you know of an autism-related charitable organization that needs our help, please let us know.

The company is run by two sisters, Ann Benefield of Washington, D.C., and Susan Hardt of Silver Spring, Maryland. Our purses are handmade and machine washable. They range from whimsical sock monkey bags to sophisticated accessories crafted from imported fabrics. Our most popular handbag models are listed online, but it is impossible to show every one-of-a-kind item we produce. We have also expanded our offerings to include cosmetic cases and mini scarves that allow women to show their own personal sense of style.

Please join us at our craft shows to see the widest possible current selection. If you don't see exactly what you are looking for on our website, please contact us (e-mail, telephone, snail mail). Let us find the perfect bag for you!

Happy shopping!
